Microsoft is pleased to announce the release of (Transport Layer Security) TLS 1.2 support in all major client drivers and SQL Server releases. The updates made available on January 29th, 2016 provide TLS 1.2 support for SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014 .

This should include optional recommended update KB4019276. This update adds TLS 1.2 capability as a default secure protocol for Schannel. This should include security update KB3161949 for the current version of WinHTTP.
